approximately 130 countries. SMS' engagement with this client
included CMM training, a mini-assessment, process development
and mentoring, implementation, process training, and formal
CMM assessment (CBA IPI).

important variations. Within two weeks of the completion of
the assessment described in case one, and for reasons driven
by organizational needs, a merger occurred between the
assessed department and a second department. SMS'
engagement with this client included mentoring, process
development, implementation, institutionalization, training,
and a formal CMM assessment to bring the merged department to
Level 3 maturity.
