1st Annual New Jersey Software
Process Improvement Symposium Brings the Industry's Finest
Together for a Day of Learning & Networking
Iselin,
NJ, December 16, 2003
– The
1st annual New Jersey Software Process Improvement (SPI)
Symposium, held on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the Woodbridge
Hilton in Iselin, NJ, was hailed a success by the attendees and
organizers alike.
The
full day conference brought together 100 SPI professionals from
all over the Northeast. Attendees spent the day learning SPI best practices through
informative presentations from experts in software process
improvement. Tim
Lister, renowned author and software management guru, gave the
keynote presentation titled "Risk Management is Project
Management for Adults" and even stayed after to sign copies
of his new book. The
morning session was rounded out by presentations from two
dynamic and renowned speakers in the field, Ken Dymond and
Joseph Billi.
During
the many breaks throughout the day, attendees spent their time
networking with their peers and visiting with the vendors in the
exhibit hall. In
the afternoon, attendees had two tracks to choose from featuring
presentations by field experts offering practical advice to
guide them in their SPI efforts. The symposium finished up with
a networking reception where everyone had a chance to unwind and
discuss the day's events.
“We
are very pleased with the outcome of the symposium,” said
George Mitwasi, President of SMS - event co-host, “The
speakers all gave dynamic and practical presentations and there
was a lot of networking going on in between.
SPI is critically important to the success of software
development projects and we were honored to be a co-host of this
important event.”
