2nd Annual New Jersey Software Process Improvement Symposium Brings the Industry's Finest Together for a Day of Learning & Networking

The 3rd Annual NJ SPI Symposium is scheduled for October 18, 2005.

Edison, NJ, November 3, 2004 - The 2nd annual New Jersey Software Process Improvement (SPI) Symposium, held on Monday, October 4, 2004 at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, was hailed a success by the attendees and organizers alike.  Attendees are already preparing for next year by declaring that they "Will definitely attend again!" and "Looking forward to next year!".

The full day conference brought together 120 SPI professionals from all over the United States.  Attendees spent the day learning SPI best practices through informative presentations from experts in software process improvement.  The symposium kicked off with a dynamic Keynote presentation on getting your organization transitioned to CMMI® by Mike Harris, a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Information Services.  Lunch was followed by a second Keynote presentation on CMMI adoption and the Software Engineering InstituteSM's (SEISM) future plans for CMMI by Mike Konrad, author and CMMI Manager at SEI.

Throughout the day, attendees had three tracks to choose from featuring presentations by field experts offering practical advice to guide them in their SPI efforts.  During the breaks, attendees spent their time networking with their peers and visiting with the vendors in the exhibit hall.

"We are very pleased with this year's symposium," said George Mitwasi, President of SMS and Executive Director of the Symposium, "The speakers all gave dynamic and practical presentations and there was a lot of networking going on in between.  The conference was bigger and better than last year's event and we look forward to topping it again in 2005!"

Individuals and organizations interested in attending or sponsoring the next NJ SPI Symposium on October 18, 2005 should contact Arlene Ross at Software Management Solutions - 732-750-0020 x20, or keep an eye on the website at www.sepg.com/nj for announcements about next year's event.
